About Atlantic Salmon
Atlantic Salmon is one of the many fresh fish we source in Bengaluru, subject to the day's supply from our importer. The flesh is a deep coral-orange, marbled with soft white fat that renders down when cooked and gives salmon its signature buttery, almost creamy texture. It is one of the most nutritionally dense fish you can put on a plate: naturally rich in healthy fats, a strong source of vitamin D, B12, selenium and a very lean protein profile per 100g.
Unlike bought-and-forgotten frozen slabs from a supermarket freezer, our Atlantic Salmon reaches Bengaluru chilled on ice from a supplier who imports and cold-chains it end-to-end. It has never sat in a home freezer for weeks. The colour, the smell and the firmness on the day of delivery tell you the story — the flesh should be bright, faintly ocean-scented (not fishy), and it should spring back when pressed.
Salmon is one of the easiest premium fish to cook at home because it forgives you. A little overcooked and it is still tender. Undercooked and it is still safe and delicious if the fish is genuinely fresh. That is why it has stayed one of the most-loved fish on our WhatsApp list, alongside the Indian favourites — Surmai, Pomfret, King Fish and Rawas.
Cuts we offer
- Whole fillet, skin-on — best for pan-searing and oven roasts
- Portion-cut fillets (150–200g) — everyday dinner portions
- Salmon steaks (bone-in cross-cut) — great for tandoor and grill
- Salmon belly — the richest, fattiest cut, ideal for sashimi-style at home
How to cook Atlantic Salmon
The classic and hardest-to-mess-up method is a pan-sear on the skin side. Pat the fillet dry, salt generously, place it skin-down on a hot pan with a spoon of oil, and press it flat for the first 30 seconds. Cook 4–5 minutes on the skin, flip for 60 seconds, and rest for two more minutes off the heat. The centre should still be a shade darker than the edges. For a masala-forward Indian preparation, marinate in ginger-garlic, turmeric, red chilli, kasuri methi and a spoon of curd for 30 minutes and either tandoor it or roast in a hot oven at 220°C for 8–9 minutes.
How we deliver it fresh
We source from the coast in the morning, chill it on ice for the drive to Bengaluru and pack it hygienically before it leaves for your door in KR Puram, Whitefield, Marathahalli or the surrounding areas. Nothing here is frozen for days on end and nothing here is chemically treated — the only preservation is temperature. If you order in the morning we deliver the same day; if you order later, we schedule you into the next available slot on WhatsApp before we pack.
